Kathy Shand has worked in publishing and the media in New York and London and more recently at the University of Sydney. Kathy was the co-owner/publisher of the Australian Jewish News from 1992 until 2011. She has had extensive community involvement as a Board Member of the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. She was appointed to the Board of the Sydney Writers Festival in 2013 and she now chairs the Sydney Writers' Festival Foundation.
